2012: Movie Review

What will you do if you know that the world is coming to an end? What if, you knew there's a way for you to survive but its limited? Are you going to reveal this to the whole world?

2012 is the movie that tells something about a phenomenon that will change the world that we've come to know. From Columbia Pictures, 2012 gave realization to that theory that the world will suffer a tremendous change on its current structure due to the perfect alignment of astronomical bodies surrounding the Earth causing Earthly elements to vary their original positions.

The movie will surely capture your interest on life's key areas that we tend to forget because of selfishness --- our family, our love ones, our friends and the entire human race. This will bring us back to basics where we are in-charge to take care of one another. 2012 is a story of a world not self-destructed due to uncontrollable human activities but of saving the mankind for a new world. Surely, its a must-see movie for this year. Catch it on theaters starting November 13, 2009!

---

I personally thank Myk, a blogger friend, and TV5 for the special ticket I got for the special screening of this movie at Glorietta 4 Cinema 1. Super thanks!

Get Internet Anytime, Anywhere with Sun Broadband Wireless

It’s been a month now that I’m using Sun Broadband Wireless as my partner in my online life. After being with the other network for one year, I decided to shift to Sun Broadband Wireless for its convenient in going anywhere you go.

I can say that overall, I’m satisfied with Sun Broadband Wireless. I can point some advantages like compared to other plug-it broadband plans available, Sun has the cheapest monthly service fee. For as low as PhP799 a month (or PhP649 if you have an existing mobile plan with them – Sun postpaid users), you can enjoy unlimited internet access. This is way cheaper to other unlimited plug-it plan with PhP1,500. Sun Broadband Wireless’ prepaid kit is just PhP1,895 and this comes with free 180 hours of surfing!

So, why do I say that Sun’s broadband service is more practical to avail? Because plug-it modems are today’s ‘in’ thing. Everybody wants to access internet with their laptop in anywhere they go. Though malls and other establishments are now equipped with Wi-Fi, there’s still a need for us to have our very own source of internet access. Take for example, you’re a student and you’re doing a research work. You need to go over to a friend’s place for you to discuss things in your research. I guess, having your own laptop and your Sun Broadband Wireless with you is an advantage!

This is to give you an idea of the unlimited advantages you may get when subscribing with Sun Broadband Wireless. To make it fair with the other networks, I also gave you an idea of Sun’s limited access. Sun’s coverage is dependent with their cell sites. As of today, 3G is only available in Metro Manila and North Luzon. Though you can still use the service in areas not covered with Sun’s 3G, this may not give you the same speed that 3G covered areas are enjoying.

Sun Broadband Wireless uses the fastest HSDPA technology with speeds of up to 3 Mbps. Now that they are officially covering North Luzon (previously they are only limited to the Metro Manila area), it will not be a surprise if in the coming months, the 3 Mbps speed will be available nationwide.

And to give you some sort of discount by merely reading this article, you can order through this blog by contacting yours truly, Fjordz at 09209824917 or 09225679716. For any questions, you can leave a comment here and I’ll answer it as soon as possible. You can also email me at fjordz@ovi.com.

Again, you can place your orders here and I’ll give you a DISCOUNT, promise! I can even ask Sun Broadband Wireless people to personally deliver it to your doorsteps! So spread the word!

The Battle for Unlimited Mobile Services

It was Sun Cellular who pioneered the unlimited mobile services in the country offering the convenience of unlimited call and text features for their subscribers. Commercially, they are branded as 'Hari ng Unlimited.' Technically speaking, due to a limited number of users, Sun's call and text services is reliable in a sense that their lines can hold the volume of calls and texts. Unfortunately, Sun's coverage is also limited.

Unlimited texts have long been implemented to the other two leading networks - Smart and Globe. It was just this year that they tried venturing into unlimited calls.

Around June of this year, Smart introduced Smartalk where its subscribers can enjoy unlimited call for 5 days (PhP100) or 30 days (PhP500). This service is available to Smart Buddy (prepaid) and Smart Gold (postpaid) but according to some Smart Buddy users, its hard to register to the service and if you're registered, its hard to connect. This is probably due to heavy volume of users attempting to enjoy the service. But, base from my personal experience, Smart Gold subscribers don't suffer the same fate with Smart Buddy.

Just this month, Globe offered their version of unlimited call. Like Smart, its available to prepaid (Globe Tattoo) and postpaid. Like Smart, Globe has numerous subscribers who will surely try the service. And for sure, like Smar, prepaid subscribers will experience the same service as Smart Buddy users.

The battle for unlimited mobile services is getting very competitive. Even the unlimited web browing of specific sites (i.e Friendster, Twitter, Facebook and Plurk) are now available on Globe and Smart. With this, I just hope that they could improve their infrastructures to handle volumes of users availing the services and/or promos.

Where Are You Now

I know I'm tremendously missing someone these past few days and this song just made my day.

I heard this before as one of the top songs being requested on radio (Monster Radio RX 93.1) but it was just today that I google its lyrics and sing along with Honor Society. So, guys, to keep your mood while reminiscing those beautiful days, here's 'Where Are You Now' of Honor Society.

Lyrics from sing365.com:

To my favorite teacher
Told me never give up
To my fifth grade crush
Who I thought I really loved
The the guys I miss
And the girls we kissed
Where are you now?
To my ex best friends
Don't know how we grew apart
To my favorite bands
And sing a longs in my car
To the face I see in my memories
Where are you now?

Where are you now?
Cause I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for you
I would never be who I am

To my first girlfriend
I thought for sure was the one
To my last girlfriend
Sorry that I screwed up
To the ones I loved
But didn't show it enough
Where are you now?

Where are you now?
Cause I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for you
I would never be who I am

I know we'll never see those days again
And things will never be that way again
But that's just how it goes
People change but I know I won't forget you

To the ones who cared
And who were there from the start
To the love that left
And took a piece of my heart
To the few who'd swear
I'd never go anywhere
Where are you now?

Where are you now?
Cause I'm thinking of you
You showed me how
How to live like I do
If it wasn't for you
I would never be who I am
If it wasn't for you
I would never be who I am
If it wasn't for you I'd be nothing
Where are you now?

Paranoid, Again!

I'm having a hard time dealing with your memories again these past few days. As paranoid as before, I needed to leave my work last Friday to take some reflections. I just felt like I'm not going to make it good at work when all these times I was thinking of you.

You know what, I miss you. I miss you so much that it hurts like I can't do anything about it but to lie down and think of you. I miss you and your stuff - your interests, smiles, voice, face, stories, laughter. I miss everything about you.

'I'm sorry for the stupid things I wish I didn't do but I do.' - Babyface

Kuya Ace is right. In order for me to move on, I should forgive myself. I keep on saying sorry as if you're hearing my apologies, as if you're still here. I need to forgive myself for letting you go and for all the things I've done. I'm really sorry and I really don't know how to forgive myself. It's all my mistakes.

I still want you. I still need you. I still love you. But I need to move on without you. I need to accept the reality that we're not related anymore. I need to face the fact that you're not mine anymore.

God, how I wish I could just easily erase you from my mind whenever you bugged me with our memories. I hate it when I'm getting paranoid. I really hate it. I want peace of mind.

Paalam, Ninang Dada!

While I was in school, I received a text message from my mom regarding the sad news about my ninang. But, I was half-focused reading my phone's inbox since I was busy that time for checking my grades for the Midterm period.

When I get back to dorm, I failed to reread my inbox since I was so sleepy that time. I grab that chance to take a two-hour sleep before attending our seminar at 1PM.

By the time I finished my school-related stuff, I had to prepare for work so, just to make the long story short, I almost forgot that sad news sent to my phone early this morning.

I just realized that it was regarding my ninang, my one and only existing ninang. Of all the names listed on my birth certificate/baptismal (I'm not sure which of these documents) who were tagged as my ninongs and ninangs, she was the only one that I met in person.

I remember when I was a kid, that was Christmas season, when my ninang and her hubby visited us when we're still residing in Valenzuela. That was the youngest memory I could recall regarding her first gift to me - its cold cash.

Actually, their family is an example of a simple and happy family. My ninang is so beautiful and her hubby is equally handsome. So no doubt that their children were born all good looking. Everytime that I remember their family, I always look at them as the simplest and blessed family that I know.

If I'm not mistaken, that was 2006 or 2007 when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. Their family suffered a lot from financial to emotional. Their children were being distributed to relatives to continue and support their studies while she and her hubby was here in Manila for treatment.

I once live with her hubby when he was here in Manila looking for a job to support her. That time, I know they're fighting to survive. I'm hearing stories from relatives that she's enduring the pain caused by that cancer. And that everytime they're sharing their experiences of seeing her, they're all crying.

I was thinking that God is just trying to test them. Of how long can they hold on to their faith. But, as human, I know that despite their smiles that the're giving to us, there's the pain. How I wish I could help them to ease their burdens. I'd love to.

Ninang is gone. But the memories she left on us are irreplaceble. Her smiles, kindness, and everything about her will always be part of our lives. She'll be forever cherished.

Paalam, Ninang Dada!
